Can Chart Navigator Pro make use of Navionics Gold XL3 series charts that come on chips? Assuming a card reader on the PC of course.

Bill,

Chart Navigator Pro can read s-57, BSB, PCX, GeoTIFF, GRIB, and SoftCharts formats. It is not compatible with Navionics charts.

Andreas,

Currently, there are not plans to make Navionics charts compatible with CNP, but I can add that suggestion to our feature request database, so the development team can at least be aware that there is an interest.

What is the chart format that C-MAP uses? Can CNP use those?

I'm not sure what format C-Map uses, but I'm told that they are not compatible regardless. Sorry for any inconvenience.

I would also like to be able to use my CNP with the charts that are on Navionics Gold CF cards.. It seems like the other software companies have made their software compatible with Navionics and C-map charts on chips. I have to admit that after purchasing the chips for several hundreds of dollars it seems redundant to have to then buy Maptech Digitial charts to cover the same area when they could be taken off the Navionic chips and installed in my laptop. Since i have to buy the chips for my chartplotter in the first place and can't do the reverse by purchasing your digital charts and uploading them to the chips... which btw would be a good thing also to look into in the next revisions of CNP.
