Aeronautical Product Updates

Maptech continues into its third year with complete U.S. coverage of official FAA data. The charts found on the 6 individual CD regions are in continual maintenance to comply with the 28-day updating cycle. New this year is CDAERO06 covering Central America and the Caribbean. VADs using the Maptech SDK already have the ability for their customers to view and navigate on these charts. Also available from Maptech are the 11,000+ terminal procedure charts which are kept current in their 56 day cycle. New and Updated Charts

Maptech will be releasing its twenty regions of the 2002 Digital Chartkit with incorporated Notice to Mariner corrections on each chart CD in BSB format. Customers already using Maptech/BSB format 3.0 data will be able to purchase and use these CDs in the format already supported by your VAD software. The CDs will be available in December 2001 and will be the most up to date, and only official digital chart data of U.S. waters. Also in December, Maptech will release ten new regions for the Mediterranean in BSB format. The charts are licensed from the German Hydrographic Office (BSH), with some local charts for the Balearic Islands, ports of Spain, and selected ports in Turkey.

Maptech SDK Versions

VADs interested in obtaining a new SDK for Maptech file format support, please contact us for details. Version 4.4 of the SDK added new data to the Maptech Header structure, thus making it incompatible with Version 4.3 and all foregoing versions of the SDK. Specifically a structure was added to support the BSB OGN Record. Version 4.5 of the SDK is compatible with Version 4.4. Changes were made to support NTM installation/processing under a new scheme, otherwise not relevant to a VAD's access to those NTMs via this SDK.
