"By far the easiest software to install... The process was intuitive, down-right user-friendly, and quick... The laptop never crashed while using Chart Navigator, I found that setting up routes was a snap, and getting used to the interface took very little time."

Boating Magazine's Top Electronics Picks of 2006
"Complete coverage of the United States, with raster, vector, bathymetric, and photo charts in one package–a first! The Windows-based interface is familiar, and navigational guru Kevin Falvey called this program ‘unequalled in ease of use.’ It's priced equal to or lower than competitors and can overlay weather data on the charts."

"Because of its combination of features, flexibility, and automatic update features, Maptech was our favorite to use.
It was very nice to be able to press 'Control-Z' and undo the most recent change to a route or a waypoint... Route planning is very nice. Leg range bearings and leg extensions can be shown, so you know what topographical features should be straight ahead. The side panel can show route obstacles... Downloading weather data is particularly easy. All weather data is free.
Bottom Line: This is our Best Choice overall for Windows users. It is intuitive, easy to learn, and offers all the elements a coastal navigator would likely need."

"At a suggested retail price of $499.95, it's quite a bargain. Chart Navigator Pro offers an inexpensive way to get started with an ECS."

"I found the ability to overlay Internet weather on the charts especially useful. Want to e-mail a cruising buddy your route? No problem. Plus I found the Windows-based interface refreshingly easy to use ---gone are the plethora of commands that made previous real-time charting software a choice.
Excellent utility and low cost --- it's worthwhile as a planning tool, even if you never bring a PC aboard your boat."

"After loading Chart Navigator Pro onto my laptop, it took a matter of minutes to figure out how to run the program, navigate from point A to point B, and get awesome underwater views of my favorite fishing grounds by pulling up the 3-D bathymetric charts. This ease of use is important. Some other charting programs I have used have taken me days (literally) to figure out.
The bathymetric charts are the coolest feature in my opinion, especially for anglers. The program lets you view any charted underwater feature (channels, shoals, and inlets) from any angle. You feel distinctly like a fish, swimming up, down, and around, zooming in and out, and getting a gander at the features you could previously picture only in your mind. Considering the features and the extensive chart coverage you get, Chart Navigator Pro is inexpensive, too, at just $499 for the entire package. Some competitive charting programs go for triple this amount."

"All this data and power cost $500, which makes CNP a terrific value if a PC is your primary navigation tool, or if you use one for planning, or even if you'd just like to desktop cruise the United States."
